In addition, the IADC Supply Chain Committee would endeavor to improve the overall performance of the global Drilling Contractor supply chain in order to better serve customers and key stake holders.
The functions of the Committee include:
- Advance the Supply Chain function in the drilling industry by providing a forum for the exchange of knowledge, best practices, and ideas between committee members and the IADC at large.
- To establish standard supplier performance metrics to be used to measure the performance of drilling industry suppliers, including recommendation to the IADC Board of Directors for periodic publication of such metrics. Metrics may include surveys of IADC Supply Chain Committee participants regarding supplier performance to rate and report supplier performance at an aggregate level.
- To review and recommend standards in equipment and product catalog data content and classification (nomenclature/taxonomy), and electronic means to improve process efficiencies such as RFID tracking and barcode scanning relative to inventory, procurement, global trade compliance data, trade preference program data/documentation, logistics, packaging, cargo handling, etc.
- Recognize industry suppliers that continuously improve the performance of the industry supply chain through adherence and superior performance to IADC Supply Chain Committee key performance metrics.
